If you are a rugged outdoors person, then you need a good pair of hiking boots for your adventurous outings. Having the proper cushioning and ankle support is extremely important in a hiker, especially if you spend a lot of time climbing mountainous terrain.
There are several excellent brands of hikers on the market today that will satisfy your needs. Merrell, Teva, Asolo, Timberland, Birkenstock, and Rockport are just a few of them. The better quality boot is made with a snug heel fit and plenty of toe room. The importance of this is obvious as you don't want to end up with blisters or other serious foot problems, especially if you are half way through your hike.
Whatever type of outdoor footwear you decide to use, be sure they are going to be comfortable. You don't want to get 5 or 10 miles into the hike only to find out that you have developed a nasty blister and can hardly walk. When you buy the pair you like, take them home and wear them around the house for a few days. Make sure your toes aren't hitting the end of the shoe, and that your heels aren't slipping out. Both of these can be the cause for some very sore feet.
Most brand name hiking boots today are made with state of the art technology passing on to you a very high quality boot. Look online for great deals on many different brands of hikers, you're sure to find something you'll like.
